"GAIA" Vineyard and Winerie

Hervas | What to See and Do

It is a small winery of artisanal wines with PGI (Protected Geographical Indication). They brew in a renovated century-old winery inside a semi-buried building in the heart of the Jewish Quarter of Hervás. The building represents a valuable example of popular architecture and the renovation has been carried out with the idea of extolling all these historical elements.
Hervás is a town with an ancient wine-growing tradition and the winery is the ideal meeting place for all those people interested in wine culture. A reunion with the past and with those elements that made up a peasant culture that had one of its greatest expressions in wine.
The Jewish Quarter has multiple wineries among its alleys, most of them disused, and Gaia is an excellent living representation of a not-too-distant past as well as an innovative commitment to the future, highlighting the potential of the local terroir to produce quality wines. , mostly from a still very unknown local variety: the rufete grape.
They offer different wine tourism activities such as commented tastings and tasting of EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) of their own production, a route through their old mountain vineyards, thematic tastings and a store space open to the public.
