One of the two parishes of Hervás is the church of San Juan Bautista, renovated by the Trinitarians. It is located in the Plaza del Convento. The façade of the church corresponds to the Castilian architecture of the 17th century. Post-Herrerian style, replica of the façade of the church of San Nicolás in Valladolid. It is made of brick painted in red, masonry and granite ashlar on doorways, moldings, pilasters and corners. The interior of the church is a central nave with four sections and two lower ones, with chapels that are connected by semicircular arches and buttresses. The altarpiece of the main altar is the work of Francisco Cutanda, from the school of Gregorio Hernández, decorated with the Holy Trinity crowning the Virgin, Saint Agnes and Saint Catherine; the angel redeeming captives; Saint John Baptist dela Concepción, Saint Félix de Valois and Saint Juan de Mata. The roof is barrel vaulted. Everything is painted and decorated with plasterwork, panel-based paint and geometric ornaments, along with the abundant anagram of the Trinitarians and their shield. The main and side altarpieces of the transept must be highlighted. They are baroque from the 19th century. XVII, of excellent quality and gold. Above the sacristy there is a baroque painting that represents the coronation of the Virgin. In the side chapels there is the altar of the Santísimo Cristo del Perdón.
