The El Nevero Route lasts 2,5 hours (6,4km), with a medium difficulty, the type of path is trail and track, and the landscape is high mountains and pine forests. This trail visits some of the most original places in the Ambroz Valley.

The first is The Corral de los Lobos, it was a wolf trap. La Garganta is a town that lived in cattle raising, especially decades ago, and wolves are a big problem for cattle. They worked with a simple mechanism, the trap is a hole in the ground with the walls inclined inwards. The trap tries to trick the wolf into thinking that it is possible to take the food left in the hole and escape, but once it enters the trap it could not flee.

You will also discover how people managed before electricity and refrigerators to cool food, we are talking about The Snow Well. Located near the wolf trap a large deep hole (about 9 meters) collapsed and covered with stone. Its function was to store snow in winter, which was compacted until it turned into ice. In spring and summer the ice was reduced to large bars, and was transported at night by train to the nearest cities, where it was sold.

The route takes place above 1.000 meters above sea level, so the landscape and views are spectacular.
