The route begins in the Plaza del Convento de Hervás. Heading out along this street it soon connects with a paved track where you can see the famous Iron Bridge. This track ascends to the houses of Marinejo. At this point you have to overcome a steep climb between oaks and chestnut trees to a reservoir that collects the waters of a ditch. A steel pipe transports the water and in this way this potential energy is harnessed and the water is returned to the river. Now the path crosses a flat section parallel to the irrigation ditch until the water intake of the Arroyo de las Costeras where you have to turn left to reach the famous Chorrera, which is a very beautiful 16 meter high waterfall on the bed of the Ambroz River. Here a steep slope begins, first through an oak forest and later along a firebreak with pine trees on the left, until two forest pylons appear. At this point, problems and uncertainties begin on an undefined path invaded by piornos. With a lot of patience and great physical effort, the summit of Pinajarro (2.099 m) is reached on top of some granite rocks. The descent to Cerro Peramarza (1.582 m) is equally difficult due to the constant presence of the piornos. Continuing the descent, a pine forest now appears near Cerro Pinarejo (1.361 m) and Collado Hondo (1.255 m). Then you now cross an oak grove with fallen leaves blurring the path. Finally it changes back to the left bank of the Ambroz River over the railway bridge.
