The duration is 2 hours (7km) with a medium difficulty, the type of path is path and track, and the landscape is of pasture areas, Cañada Real, fruit trees. This trail connects two municipalities of Ambroz, the first (Aldeanueva del Camino) located on the plain and which had its period of maximum development when the volume of people or animals passing through the so-called “Bejar corridor” was high.
The other town, Segura de Toro, on the contrary, has its peak moments when it was not advisable to live on the plain, so in the long years of the Reconquista, Segura de Toro was the best watchtower to militarily monitor the transit through the valley, which is why the Templars chose this place to build an important fortress to monitor the passage along the Vía de la Plata
This itinerary therefore runs along ancient paths that connect two different ways of living in the Ambroz Valley throughout history and that left a legacy in accordance with the function for which they were created: in Aldeanueva we will see bridges, a Roman road, a plaza livestock market, agricultural products with paprika as the most prominent and however in Segura de Toro the visit allows us to see a town that is more livestock than agricultural, remains of the Vetona (boar) culture and what remains of the Templar Castle
