The duration of the route is 7,25 hours (on foot) and 3 hours (by bicycle), it is 20 km, it is of Medium-High difficulty, the type of path is track and trail and the landscape you can enjoy a forest of chestnut trees and oaks, pine forests and high mountains. It is a very popular route among mountain bike fans. This long trail (30 kilometers) owes its name to the fact that when the track was laid out and opened it coincided with the first television broadcast of the cartoon series “Heidi” that was so successful in its time, the track was made to carry out an important repopulation of pine trees, at altitudes above 1000 meters of altitude and where the chestnut tree no longer thrives adequately, today these pine trees have an important size and abundantly shade the path on sunny days. It runs for the most part at an elevation of 1100 meters, which allows a general view of the Ambroz Valley, practically throughout the entire route, as well as the peaks of this mountain system.
Another attraction is the number of small streams that we cross, all of them tributaries of the Ambroz River, the latter we must also pass, and if we maintain a moment of silence, we will hear the noise that its waters make when falling over the waterfall called La Chorrera, which, at that point, is very close to this path
The itinerary becomes, if we look closely, a tour through the bioclimatic floors of the Ambroz Valley, at the departure and arrival in Hervás the fruit trees predominate, then comes the deciduous forest (between 700 and 1000 meters) which in this case It is made of chestnut and oak trees, above a thousand meters the conifers dominate the landscape and finally, above 1500 meters, the brooms and heather are seen.
It will not be unusual for griffon vultures to fly over the path as they come and go from their vulture colony installed very close to kilometer seven and the number of specimens in the colony has increased in recent years.
