Aldeanueva del Camino | Ambroz Trails
Route 1, suitable for strollers⇒ 2,4 km
A comfortable 2-km walk that takes in the most characteristic corners of Aldeanueva del Camino, taking in typical mountain buildings and the "El Mercao" square, the emblematic site of the largest livestock market in Extremadura. This walk takes us past old drying sheds used to dry peppers to obtain the prized paprika, the town's agro-economic hallmark.Route on Wikiloc)
Route 2, easy but not suitable for strollers ⇒ 5,4 km
Discovering another kind of landscape, this one linked to water. Hidden corners, like the Deep Well, used to moisten chestnut wood during the basket-weaving industry, old makeshift laundry rooms where young people played in the puddles. And, of course, visiting the old train station that brought so many heads of cattle to this town to be traded. (Route on Wikiloc)
Route 3, for healthy families⇒ 6,1 km
The geographical position of Aldeanueva, at the foot of the Trasierra, means that the land is filled with water and the ash trees take advantage of it, as do the farmers who continue to make a living from this traditional business in the ash pastures. (Fraxinus angustifolia)Return to the village along the old railway line, now converted into the Silver Green Route. (Route on Wikiloc)
