Hervás peri-urban routes

Hervas | Ambroz Trails

Route 1, suitable for strollers ⇒ 3 km

A comfortable walk through Hervás allows you to admire this famous town from various viewpoints. Panoramic views from the Mirador de la Mina and the Iron Bridge have been filmed numerous times. The presence of terraces and buildings near the Ambroz River reveal a past of subsistence farming, textiles, and milling. (Route on Wikiloc)

Route 2, easy but not suitable for strollers ⇒ 4,7 km

With a step more difficulty, this route takes us to a corner where the forest embraces the river, another place from where we can appreciate the beauty of an alder gallery forest. (Alnus glutinosa)The route doesn't miss the most beautiful viewpoints in Hervás and the Jewish Quarter, a regular natural setting for theatrical performances during the festival of Los Conversos. (Route on Wikiloc)

Route 3, for healthy families⇒ 8,4Km

We leave Hervás through a less-traveled area, but one with a beautiful landscape. There are some tough stretches for the legs that take us into the Hervás Pine Forest and the centuries-old ash pastures. (Fraxinus angustifolia) Highlighting the presence of cattle ranching in a predominantly tourist town. Unique tree interventions on several ash trees have been transformed into "playful animals." Finally, after leaving the Greenway, I return to the town via a small section of the historic and artistic complex of the Jewish Quarter of Hervás. You couldn't ask for more! (Route on Wikiloc)
