The "Vía de la Plata" is the Roman road that linked the towns of Emerita Augusta (Mérida) and Asturica Augusta (Astorga). It preserves part of its original layout as it passes through Baños de Montemayor, with an important section restored in the last century. This path has been crossed by the different civilizations that have set foot on the Iberian Peninsula on their journeys from north to south; it was the main means of communication in the western part of the peninsula. Some milestones are also preserved, and others of new design have also been installed next to its layout.
