What is Magical Autumn?

What is it?

A festival of nature.

The colors, smells and flavors of autumn are the perfect setting for carrying out activities in nature. This festival has been held since 1998 and includes activities such as hiking, mountain bike routes, mountain races, adventure raids, gastronomy, mycology, astronomy, photography, music or theater, among others.

When is it?

It runs from the last weekend of October to the first of December, including all weekends in the month of November.

Where does it take place?

In the North of Extremadura, in a garden surrounded by forests and 2.000-meter mountains, this valley is hidden, crossed by the Vía de la Plata and the A66. Sample of many landscapes, it keeps a treasure in each of its 8 towns: the pasture of Abadía, the “snowy” cherry tree farms in Gargantilla and Casas del Monte, century-old chestnut trees in Segura de Toro, the Jewish Quarter of Hervás, the hot springs Roman streets of Baños de Montemayor, the Vía de la Plata through Aldeanueva del Camino or El Pozo de la Nieve in La Garganta are just a few. You have to come and discover them.

Why is it magical?

It is a choral festival, in whose organization numerous associations and groups participate, and in which the 8.000 inhabitants of Ambroz go out of their way to show visitors the best of their towns. The lush forests of chestnut and oak trees, many centuries old and with their own names, dress in their best colors before releasing their leaves and preparing for winter. It is time for chestnuts, mushrooms, preparing paprika and homemade slaughterings. The smell of fire, moss and wet leaves. Six weekends, more than 70 activities, fun for everyone.

It includes activities for everyone, organized with all the love by the people of the Ambroz Valley, who are proud to show off their towns, their gastronomy, their landscapes, their corners...
