This municipality is located in the middle of the valley. Its name derives from the Roman road whose layout nowadays follows its main street. It has very well preserved remains and a Roman bridge.

In the recent history of Aldeanueva del Camino stands out the figure of the sculptor and painter Ángel Duarte, who developed his career between Spain and Paris and whose work was recognized worldwide with the Equipo 57. One of his works can be visited at the School Square. The Market Square or the Severiano Masides Street are of particular interest.

Nuestra Señora del Olmo parish church dates back to the fifteenth century and shows a transitional Gothic style quite unusual in Spain.

The buttresses, the rectangular tower and the chapel are the most important elements. As for the San Servando Church, it was erected in the lower side of the village.

Besides the mountains and pasture lands, Aldeanueva preserves some important trees, such as the Alcornoque de la Fresneda (Fresneda Coark Oak), which is protected as a Special Tree, or the remains of ancient elm trees at the School Square.

The growing and processing of paprika and the exploitation of chestnut trees by small family businesses are the signs of identity of this village.

The new rail trail Via Verde – Camino Natural de la Plata runs next to the village. We highly recommend going for a walk along this rail trail, and even a hike to the Pozo Hondo (Deep Well), which leaves from the Vía Verde.

You can also walk along Valdelamatanza road towards the Finca La Masides, long ago a fertile estate that used to grow peppers that today has become an home for the elderly at a beautiful setting that includes a statue of Enrique Pérez Comendador.
